Ready for Vacation

I want, need, crave, yearn for, long for and am ready for a vacation.

AllSaints Spitalfields

My recently favourite place to shop in London.

Their clothes were made to look well worn-in and seem to have that rock-inspired formula with a special distressed shabby chic look. Things in grey, beige, black and battered denim and the Victorian-style boots without laces look like they've just stepped out of a music video.

Their trademark motif is a ram skull which goes well with the interiors of edgy rails and rusty lamps, wooden floors and vintage sewing machines. These days I could easily wear this everywhere. But I really wonder how long it will take before this becomes another boring Zara...

Where Are You, Passport?

'They came to the airport naked. They're like, 'Can I get on the plane? I don't want to show you where my passport is.'

I am still waiting for my passport to be returned from the border agency. It's been more than 3 months now. First I couldn't care less, but now the inability to be able to leave the country when I want started to drive me a little crazy...

What can a passport do with an immigration service for the time of 3-6 months?

Well, let's see... here it is - I can imagine it waking up on a shelf one sunny day and travelling to someone's desk... Being looked at, pages turned, shown some ultra violet light maybe, put back on the desk, lifted again, given another look, compared to some creepy looking database, against some blacklists. Then I could imagine it waking up on another exciting day and travelling to some other desk and then maybe - if it's lucky - to even yet another one. But going forward I imagine my poor passport's life would get pretty ...boooring.

- waking up on someone's desk one sunny morning...
- waking up on someone's desk...
- waking up on someone's desk...
- waking up on someone's desk...
- waking up on someone's desk...

... +

But like that for 6 months.....?

Just recently I became a fan of passport jokes and even this.

LA RÊVE - Café De Paris

What I really like about London is that it continuously offers interesting things to do and new experiences.

This time it was my ever first time in a burlesque cabaret - very witty, very vintage and modern at the same time. Crushed velvet, theatrical drapes, chichi crystal chandeliers, the vintage feel of the main space and its balconies - it was unusual to find it all in the French-flavoured Café de Paris in Piccadilly open since 1924. La Rêve show was very good and so was the hot 'Twisted Circus' after party - with resident DJs play mixed with circus performances.

I think from now on I can stop going to musicals in favour of cabarets ;).

Yo! Sushi

I now (officially) know how to make sushi - we've been to a sushi school last weekend :) So no way I will confuse between anago and unagi... or will I? :D

Anyway, my favourite ones to make are uramaki - those with the rice on the ouside. Sushi making is great fun!

You kind of end up stuffed with rice, in the meantime tempted to play with the conveyor belt... and with 5 boxes to carry home to feed all your friends :).
