WINTERDREAM

Images by Olga

skating, baltic sea, birds

Some images taken over the weekend.. Knees still hurt after falling down (but totally worth it). It seems from the images we here live in Antarctica. That is not so, still I very much pity the birds in the frozen sea - very hard time for them this winter.

Hello Olga,
The pictures are absolutely beautiful and althought it looks an icy weather I'm sure that your hearts were warm. This reminded me a passage from Richard Yates, from his book "Revolutionary Road". It refers to that colness and emptyness, that Winter could suggest, as a lovable way of enjoying nature:
" I love the snow, love the cold winds, love glistening ice on the trees (but not the ice on the sidewalks), love the look of bare tree branches, love dressing in layers with hats and scarves and warm jackets, love trampling through snow in my winter boots, I love when the sun is warm but the wind is cold. I especially love coming inside and sitting down to homemade lentil soup after sending the day out in the snow."
I'm sure it must be really nice to return home after one of these enjoyable winter days. Hugs TI
